Nuria Torres
(Barcelona, 1976)
Diplomada en Ingeniería, estudia escultura en la escuela Llotja de Barcelona encontrando en este arte su gran pasión, amplia su formación y conocimientos con escultores nacionales e internacionales.
Ha colaborado con artistas como Antoni Miralda y ha sido seleccionada y premiada en diferentes bienales internacionales de cerámica y escultura.
Su obra ya está presente en colecciones públicas como por ejemplo: Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum (South Korea); Aveiro Museum (Portugal); Ariana Museum (Geneva, Switzerland); Museu de Arte Contemporaneo Vicente Aguilera Cerni (Castellón), Museo del Disseny (Barcelona).
El mármol, la porcelana y el bronce son el lenguaje para mis propuestas escultóricas que tras años de dedicación y pasión he ido perfeccionando adquiriendo conocimientos para llegar a una gran variedad de proyectos.
La piedra requiere de una gran precisión, trabajo con obras únicas que me permiten llegar a detalles como veladuras y transparencias manipulando el mármol como si fuera una segunda piel.
La porcelana es delicada y versátil juego con la decoración y tercer fuego para conseguir una gama más amplia de acabados y el bronce es ideal para realizar esculturas únicas a gran escala. Mi obra es figurativa, me interesa el clasicismo añadiendo algo más de realidad!

Degree in Engineering, she studies sculpture at the Llotja school in Barcelona, where she finds great passion in this art, widening her training and knowledge with national and international sculptors.

Marble, porcelain and stoneware constitute the language of my sculptural proposals. After years of dedication and passion I have been perfecting my craft, acquiring the knowledge to achieve a great variety of projects.
Stone requires great precisión. I work on single pieces and this material allows me to get into details such as glazes and transparencies, or manipulating marble as if it were a second skin.
Porcelain is delicate and versatile. When working with it I can with decoration and third fire to get a wider range of finishes. While stoneware is ideal for making single sculptures on a large scale.
My work is figurative., I’m interested in classicism but always adding something to classical realism. A small detail that reminds you that our here and now is the XXI century.
I like to use recognizable everyday objects and elevate them to art, showing that traditional styles and techniques can be revised to capture a contemporary aesthetic.
I recognize in me an unconditional love for sculpture and I constantly feel the need to look for new forms of representation.
For me sculpture is a gift from life!
